Key construction dates:
Los Rios Community College campus construction began June 2008 (includes pile-driving activity for 10-12 working days until Aug. 24)
Turner Library project begins September 2008.
Streetscape improvements begin fall of 2008.
Community Center construction begins January 2009.
Transit transfer station construction begins in late 2009.
The Civic Center is scheduled for completion in 2010.
The construction area bounded by West Capitol and Merkley Avenues, across the street from the West Sacramento City Hall and east of Jefferson Boulevard.
The completion of the Civic Center will mark an exciting new addition to West Sacramento’s central business district.
With projects of this size, there will be some construction inconveniences, including noise, dust, and traffic controls. City staff will help keep communication lines open with construction teams.
Be safe and patient in response to construction controls in the area—and don’t forget to visit the restaurants and businesses open along Merkley Avenue.
