DESCRIPTION
Acts in an advisory capacity to the council on matters concerning general economic development, marketing, and business relations. Specific areas of involvement include: provide comment on the annual Business Retention and Recruitment reports, work with the chamber of commerce on programs of mutual interest, review and comment on the Development Assistance Policy, advise the council on issues pending before them related to transportation, including light rail and other means of public transportation expansion/improvements in the city, comment on regional transportation plans, comment on parking plans as it relates to business development, and make recommendations on telecommunication studies and policies that the council may be considering.

The Commission meets monthly in the Council Chambers.  All meetings are televised on Wave Cable.

The Commission is staffed by the Redevelopment Department (617-4535).
