DESCRIPTION

Acts in an advisory capacity to the council, redevelopment agency and staff in their mission to encourage diverse, high-quality residential neighborhoods and the development of affordable housing; provides community input on housing issues and obligations and may have input on financing, relocation, site selection and rehabilitation plans.  Specific areas of involvement include: geographic areas of greatest affordable housing needs; housing legislative issues; marketing strategies for housing programs.

The Commission meets bi-monthly in the Council Chambers.  All meetings are televised on Wave Cable.

The Commission is staffed by the Housing & Community Investment Department (617-4555).
